The DYSLEXIC canvas is one of my all time favorites! The colors are incredibly vibrant and as a dyslexic, the canvas is special to me. Because this canvas has so much meaning to me, I wanted to share the threads I am currently stitching with! These threads are not available on Evelyn-Designs.com, but just about any needlepoint shop should have them.
To create dimensionality in the canvas, I am working with Silk & Ivory (50% silk / 50% wool) on the colored portion of canvas and Colonial Persian Yarn (100% wool) on the background.
First up are the warm Silk & Ivory colors: quince, marmalade, cosmopolitan and raspberry.
Next for the cooler Silk & Ivory shades: leprechaun, marsh, iris, and morning glory.
Finally, I am using Colonial Persian Yarn - White / Cream for the background. It is strand-able and I have been using two of the three strands. It is definitely a “rougher” stitch than threads that contain silk (or are partially silk), but the look is a little matte and the pricing is incredibly reasonable! Please note, stitchers could always use Silk & Ivory colors, white, or natural if they do not like working with pure wool.
